Maira Kalman: Various Illustrations (of a Crazy World) at the Institute of Contemporary Art

This week I had a chance to stop into one of my favorite (and free!) museums in the city: the Institute of Contemporary Art (known as ICA to us locals). I was thrilled to find a wonderful exhibit of Maira Kalman's illustrated works. She is an illustrator, author, and designer best known for her children's books and work with the New York Times and The New Yorker. I immediately recognized her piece, "New Yorkistan," that ran on the cover of the The New Yorker in December, 2001. I'm really looking forward to her lecture at ICA on February 10. For more information about this exhibit and other ICA programs, visit icaphila.org. The Maira Kalman exhibit will be on display through June 6.
